Learning some table... manners.

Today, Curve Digital announced their new physics-based dating game Table Manners, where it's part Surgeon Simulator and part worst date ever.

The player has been searching for the perfect date for weeks, digging through dating apps and looking for The One. Now that The One has been found, you guys are going out on your first date, except it's going to be a hellish experience. Why? Because you, the player, are a disembodied hand that a knack for destroying everything it touches, including your romantic aspirations.

From pouring a glass of wine to lighting candles to create a perfect romantic atmosphere, everything is difficult to downright impossible, and it is up to the player to make things as unique and crazy as possible. The dates range from crazy venues such as a private jet miles up in the air, aboard a cruise ship or something more realistic, like a restaurant. Tim Lewis, Producer at Echo Chamber Games, had the following to say about the game's announcement.

Table Manners is one of those rare games where failure is just as much fun as success, while your ultimate goal is to impress your potential new partner in order to gain access to more sophisticated venues - each with unique gameplay mechanics - no one can deny that failing by, let’s say, covering your date in a freshly poured bottle of champagne in those vital first few minutes, is not without reward. We think it’ll serve as either the perfect practice for those who have a real-life date lined up, or antidote for those who give Valentine’s Day a miss.”

If the player somehow does half-decently during the date, they will unlock more skills that can be used in subsequent dates. Go get 'em, tiger!

Table Manners will launch this Valentine's Day for £17.99/€19.99 /$19.99 on Steam. If you want to join the development team's discord, be sure to click here
