As per our review from last year based on the PC version, The Swords of Ditto is an inventive action RPG with roguelike elements, fun visuals and animations, an innovative story, and quirky characters. It was developed by Onebitbeyond, the new studio of Jonathan Biddle, previously a director and owner of Curve, the studio that developed Stealth Bastard Deluxe and Stealth Inc. 2. Biddle has been working on the Nintendo Switch version for the past year, and it was released a few hours ago as The Swords of Ditto: Mormo's Curse, with new areas to explore, new weapons and toys, and new bosses.
Unfortunately, it also includes a critical issue that should have been fixed with a patch at launch, meaning The Swords of Ditto bugs were unfixed. As the publisher Devolver Digital explained on Twitter, due to the fact that the Golden Week national holidays are currently happening in Japan, the patch has been delayed for a week. Therefore those who were looking to play the game right upon release will have to bear with some Swords of Ditto bugs regarding player death. Devolver Digital and Onebitbeyond went into detail on the issues that players should be aware of.

Jonathan Biddle also added that the issue only affects the Nintendo Switch release. PlayStation 4 and PC versions should have no issue and were updated with the Mormo's Curse content.

The exact issues with the Nintendo Switch are detailed in Onebitbeyond's website:
- Players die in failed stories in Regular and Relaxed Modes instead of being returned to their house
- Players are returned to their house in Regular and Relaxed Modes if they die while climbing Mormo Palace and their game is saved into a state where they are unable to leave the next room
