Today Bandai Namco released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG Sword Art Online Last Recollection, on top of revealing returning characters.

The trailer focuses on the gameplay systems included in the game, starting with exploration and traversal, then moving on to combat, gear, and progression, and finally showing character customization.

You can watch it below.

Update: the trailer, originally in Japanese, has been swapped the English version courtesy of the South East Asian arm of Bandai Namco

We also get the reveal of the return of two familiar characters from previous video games of the series, Seven from Sword Art Online: Lost Song and Premiere from Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization. As usual, Kirito just can't have enough waifus.

In case you missed the original announcement made back in November, the game is a retelling of the Sword Art Online Alicization: War of Underworld arc of the anime and is set in the Dark Territory of Underworld. It will also serve as a sequel to Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris.

Sword Art Online Last Recollection is coming for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on October 6, 2023. If you want to see more, you can take a look at the previous story trailer and another video focusing on the comparison with the previous title. The game will feature over 40 playable characters and promises "MMO-like multiplayer" and "the largest number of unique endings" ever featured in the long-running Sword Art Online series.
