In what is traditionally somewhat of a dead period of gaming announcements, Bandai Namco has decided to take over and unleash a torrent of them. After just recently announcing Tales of Berseria and a whole host of others, Bandai Namco continues with it's string of announcements with Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization being announced to be coming to the Americas in 2016.

The fourth installment in the Sword Art Online series, Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization has the players take on the role of Kirito as he discovers a long lost world that has changed in many ways. That world, Sword Art: Origin, was created on the game's original servers and has rebuilt itself in new and unexpected ways... well expectedly dangerous but otherwise it was unexpected. The world, according to the trailer doesn't wish for other people meaning that it is very possible that the threat here is the world attempting to banish humanity from itself.

Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at Bandai Namco spoke a bit about the game discussing its growing popularity but perhaps more pertinently to the game's story and setting about wanting to take players even further into the world of Sword Art Online:

"With Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, we’re striving to take fans even further into Sword Art Online’s VRMMORPG world. We hope players are ready for the challenge.”

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization appears to mostly use a battle system like its predecessor Sword Art Online: Lost Song with several characters (it appears to have 4 instead of Lost Song's 3) working alongside your controlled one in active action battle style system. Here is that trailer that you can see for yourself:

Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization is coming for the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita and as mentioned above will be releasing sometime in 2016.
