TML-Studios has announced Dead Man's Diary, a brand-new survival and exploration game that's arriving on Steam late next month.
Fans of survival games have been having a pretty great time lately. Aside from new releases like Dean Hall's Icarus, there have been some pretty great indie games coming out like Chernobylite and Medieval Dynasty. Now, an interesting new survival and exploration game is in the works -- and from a somewhat unexpected developer.
Dead Man's Diary puts players in the shoes of a survivor of the apocalypse. The surface world was wrecked when the missiles started flying more than a decade ago. Now, you're running out of food and you'll have to explore the world to survive.
This upcoming game will feature survival mechanics; you'll have to find food, drinking water, and a safe place to sleep at night. What makes it a little different from your typical survival game is the story, revealed through narrated diary entries. You'll also have a few "tricky but realistic" puzzles to solve, too.
What's particularly interesting about this upcoming release is who's developing it. TML-Studios has previously worked on simulation games such as Tourist Bus Simulator and Fernbus Simulator. That makes this upcoming survival game somewhat of a departure for them -- and perhaps something worth experiencing yourself. All of this will take place in "realistically bleak" landscapes according to a press release, cooked up by a developer with a fair amount of experience in the Unreal Engine.
When is the Dead Man's Diary Release Date?
The Dead Man's Diary release date is March 30, 2022. The game will be launching on PC via Steam first; console editions of the game are expected to arrive later this year.
For now, there's not much to do other than wait for this game to come out. If this is the kind of game that interests you, you can go ahead and add Dead Man's Diary to your wishlist on Steam.
