Surreal survival game The Eternal Cylinder has finally gotten a release date - you'll be able to play this strange open-world game from Good Shepherd Entertainment on PC and consoles later this month.
The subject of evolution has been addressed by entertainment in all sorts of ways, whether you're clicking your way through history in Cells to Singularity or watching the latest take on the world of Pokemon. Good Shepherd Entertainment has cooked up a pretty weird survival game with evolution mechanics and you'll soon be able to play it - check out The Eternal Cylinder release date announcement trailer!
In The Eternal Cylinder, players control a herd of cutesy creatures called "Trebhums" that can evolve new abilities by eating other plants and animals. There will be dozens of mutations available in the game, ranging from traversal skills such as flying and swimming to new senses that will help you solve puzzles and detect dangers.
The ability to sense danger will be especially important — there are all sorts of deadly alien creatures in this world, and many of them are much larger than you. All of these baddies pale in comparison to the titular Cylinder, a gigantic moving monument that crushes everything in its path and has to be avoided to ensure the survival of your race.
