With Super Meat Boy Forever gearing up for its PC debut on The Epic Games Store in 2019, Team Meat is offering up its first title for free.
Super Meat Boy is an indie platformer that features dozens of levels. You play as the eponymous Meat Boy, who wants to save Bandage Girl from the clutches of Dr. Fetus. If this sentence sounds strange, just know that it's typical of Team Meat.
There are several different worlds, insane platforming challenges, boss battles, and plenty of hidden collectibles. While the game has been out since 2010, it's a $15 title. It frequently goes on sale, but if you get it on the Epic Games Store now, it's free of charge.
In other Epic-related news, the company has made a killing this year. It's no surprise that the North Carolina-based studio has made billions of dollars off Fortnite. TechCrunch reports that Epic Games earned $3 billion in profit in 2018, and with the wild success of Fortnite and its huge player base, it's easy to say that this was the driving force in that incredible margin.
With the combined popularity of Fortnite and the recent launch of the Epic Games Store (which offers free titles like Super Meat Boy and Subnautica, and timed exclusives like Hades), the company's success is likely going to continue on an upward trend.

There's no reason not to grab this title. It's one of my favorite indie games ever, so I'm a little biased. I originally got introduced to Meat Boy when it was a flash game title, and I managed to collect every single band-aid (what they were called back then, before copyright issues) and spent hours upon hours with it. Super Meat Boy is equally excellent and is a platforming experience everyone should try. And if it's not your thing, at least you didn't have to pay for it. You bet I'll be there for Super Meat Boy Forever when it's out next year, too.
