Super Mario Bros Movie Poster

Today Nintendo revealed the official poster of the upcoming The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and it's definitely colorful.

The poster portrays the titular protagonist Mario alongside his brother Luigi, his beloved and eternally displaced (to another castle) Peach, and the arch-enemy Bowser. We also see Donkey Kong, Toad, Kamek, and more. Yes, I have no idea whether the new Koopa Paratroopa officer has a name and I can't find any info about it, so I'm just calling him "More" or Bob.

You can take a good look below.

Super Mario Bros Movie

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was officially announced in 2018 and is co-produced by Shigeru Miyamoto himself. Animated by Illumination, it's based on a script by Matthew Fogel and it stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

The traditional English voice of Mario Charles Martinet is also going to appear with cameos, albeit his role has not been detailed further.

It will debut on the silver screen in the United States on April 7, 2023, while Japanese fans will have to wait until April 28. Other regions and countries have their own release dates.

The film is based on the Super Mario Bros. franchise, which is arguably Nintendo's most popular video game series. It debuted in 1985 with Super Mario Bros and includes a metric ton of video games on a series of Nintendo platforms, which culminated in 2021 with Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury for Nintendo Switch. Semi-recently, Nintendo Has started letting other developers take a stab at it, resulting in Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids franchise, albeit we recently learned that sales of the second game, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope released late 2022, were disappointing.
