A new Kirby game was announced in today's Nintendo Direct, Super Kirby Clash. It's a four player co-op game that can be played online. You will need Switch Online to play it online. Super Kirby Clash releases later today, and it's free to start, so you can start playing this evening just by downloading it.
There will be four different classes to play, the Blade Hero, Hammer Lord, Doctor Healmore, and Beam Mage. You pick up quests and jobs in a hub town and move out to fight enemies. There are more than 100 quests to play with a lot of enemies. There's also a lot of gear to collect as you build your Kirby the way you want. It's all about working as a team and playing your role for success.
You get gear by crafting weapons or using Gem Apples, which is a currency that can be used in-game or purchased using real world cash. Gem Apples can also be used to restore Vigor, a resource that would otherwise recharge over time. The press release does not state how Vigor works, but based on other free to start games, Vigor is likely a currency you use to go out on quests. If you have no Vigor, you'll have to wait for more or pay to recharge it. Other than that, the Gem Apples can be used to unlock new quests, trade for weapons, armor, support, items, or stickers.
