Ever wanted to live a similar experience to being Dora The Explorer? Well, developer and publisher Chibig revealed their latest adventure title, Summer in Mara

The title follows the story of Koa, a young girl living on the shores of Mara just enjoying life and trying to cultivate her crops while exploring the world around her. Players can "farm and craft on their home island while also setting off to sea to explore the vast tropical archipelago of Summer in Mara."

The studio itself describes the title as a "mix of farming simulation and story-based adventure," as players will get to learn about new crops, visit islands around Mara, meet over 25 characters and make them your friends, and gather materials needed to craft tools. Not only that, but you will also have to protect Mara from the evil corporation Elit and their plans to take over the island. The development team emphasized the amount of effort put into character development, with every person you meet carefully designed to offer something unique to your world. The following is Summer of Mara's main features:

  • An open ocean with over 20 islands to explore.
  • Customize your own island with buildings, crops and farm animals.
  • Over 25 characters to meet and befriend.
  • More than 300 quests to make Mara a better place.
  • Day and night cycle that have an effect on the world with climatic events

Summer in Mara is scheduled for release sometime in the Spring with no set release date for PC and Nintendo Switch, with PS4 and Xbox One coming later than the initial release in all cases. Make sure to check out the trailer below for more in-game footage.
