Suikoden II is a turn-based RPG that upon initial release sold very few copies when it was released in 1999. In fact, so few that it has become a sensation. This game can sell for as much as 565 dollars on sites like Amazon and Ebay, and even used sells for a whopping 128$. And I thought Ar Tonelico's price was high... This game is famous for it's use of over 100 different playable characters and good drawn out storylines, similar to games such as Pokemon and ChronoCross. Suikoden II continues the story set by its predecessor, following the story of a guy names Riou and his friend Jowy as they fight against the war and politics that is raging in their country. And with over 100 characters to play with, it certainly has that replayability factor.

Due to it's high demand, Konami made a spastic statement earlier today on both the PlayStation Blog as well as Twitter saying the following "It is then with great joy that I am able to announce that *deep breath* Suikoden II is coming to PlayStation Network as a PS one Classic in North America for the first time on December 9th." Yup, you heard that right, the classic and highly demanded PlayStation One title Suikoden II is headed for the PlayStation Network on December 9th, just three days from now! It will be playable on the PlayStation 3 system. And also, from a different post, both Suikoden I and II will be playable on the PSVita.

However, I do not know if Suikoden II will be playable on the original PSP, which is what I am hoping for. But even though Suikoden I is available for download via the PSP, I do not see this being released for the older PSP system. But for those of you with a PS Vita, it will be a welcome addition to the PS One Classics.

I for one cannot wait for this release, but what do you guys think about Konami releasing this game onto the PSN? Has it been a few years overdue? Or can you take it or leave it?
