COVID-19 development challenges will see the Stronghold: Warlords release date delayed by several months so that the developers can have more time to get everything just right.
First revealed at E3 2019, Stronghold: Warlords promises to put players right in the midst of ancient China. With angry Mongols everywhere and a lot of stuff on fire, it's sure to prove to be a challenging experience. Unfortunately, you won't be able to play this upcoming game until next year.

Why Was the Stronghold: Warlords Release Date Delayed?
Having to wait a few more months to play Stronghold: Warlords is certainly frustrating, but the reasons are understandable. As with many other game developers, it appears that Firefly Studios have had a lot of new challenges emerge thanks to COVID-19.
"We hadn’t intended for the recent global situation to impact our development, and when we announced September 29th as our release date we fully believed we would succeed in meeting it," Firefly Studios said in a press release. "That said, the effect COVID-19 has had on us as individuals, as well as a company, has brought us to the point where we’ve had to take a step back, assess what areas of development still need work, and make the tough, but necessary decision to delay."
"We are currently playtesting and balancing, and there's bags of fun and challenge in there already," added Firefly Studios' Creative Director Simon Bradbury. "We are [laser-focused] on absolutely anything that just doesn't feel right, so we need some extra time for those aspects given the current climate."

Stronghold: Warlords looks like it's going to be a great game, especially because the developers are taking the necessary time to ensure that it's the best experience possible. When is the new Stronghold: Warlords release date?
