Capcom have began launching scheduled stress tests for the PS4 version of Street Fighter 5. Capcom launched the stress tests for the EU servers on the 20th at 16:00-00:00 BST and yesterday at the same time. Further North America and Asia stress test dates and times will be announced at a later date.
The earlier Street Fighter 5 Beta was postponed due to many users being unable to access the game. Beta participants reported receiving constant login issues and a variety of error messages. Some regions had more luck than others logging in but the game failed to work for the majority of users. The stress tests will be occurring over the next few weeks in order to ensure the relaunch of the Beta will go more smoothly.
The results of the EU stress tests did show further disconnections and errors. However, it was evident that Capcom have addressed many of the issues, with many people being able to find games and play a few matches. Capcom have been posting updates via twitter regarding the state of the servers.
As with the previous beta trials, the players were put in to the training mode to practice whilst they wait to be paired with another player. Checking out various streams such as French streamers GamingLive_TV1, it seems like players were far more likely to find online matches than previous beta tests. Whereas previous stress tests saw people either not get a game at all or wait for sometimes hours in between the games, the European stress test seemed far more successful with players getting games far more frequently.
Characters Ryu, Nash, Cammy and Birdie were readily playable in both the training room and in online matches. However, the more recently announced characters Necalli and classic characters Vega and Ken were not playable in the stress tests. Whether they will be playable at later Beta trials is unknown.
A Capcom employee 'Haunts' announced on a blog update also confirmed that they will be going forward with relaunching the Global Beta after all the remaining regional stress tests are completed. The PC Beta will be coming at an unannounced date in the Fall.
