Today Square Enix finally announced the Steam release date of its action JRPG Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin.
The game will launch on Valve's popular PC storefront on April 6, 2023. Just over a year after its launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Epic Games Store. Like many of the relevant games by Square Enix, it was affected by a one-year exclusivity deal on the EGS, but it has finally expired.
Interestingly, the game is also getting a permanent price drop on the existing platforms, and starting today, it's priced at $39.99 down from $59.99.
The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below. It also showcases the DLC released for the game, Trials of the Dragon King, Wanderer of the Rift, and Different Future. Do keep in mind that, if you have not played the story, the trailer also includes what can be considered very relevant spoilers, so you may want to hold off on watching it.
If you're unfamiliar with Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin, it was developed by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja, so it's definitely different from your usual Final Fantasy games, and more similar to Souls-likes like Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Destiny, while still coming with several tropes of the original franchise like the job system and more.
