Beam Team Games have announced the next update for their survival simulator: co-op. That's right, players will soon be able to play Stranded Deep co-op very soon... tomorrow soon, in fact! As part of a free update, players will be able to play Stranded Deep co-op with one another, a feature that's been begged for ever since it launched on Steam back in 2015. It took a while, but now Stranded Deep has joined the cooperative survival sim ranks of Valheim, Don't Starve Together, and many others.
Players will be able to encounter sharks, a giant squid, and other sea creatures together with the Stranded Deep co-op update. Hunger, thirst, and exposure will also be something that you'll no longer have to suffer through alone, and now you can work with a friend to escape the terrible situation you're both stuck in.
It's important to note that the Stranded Deep update is both free for existing players and newcomers, which is definitely a good idea and a little worrying that Beam Team Games felt the need to spell it out. It makes sense, especially with all the next-gen upgrades that have been paid. Horizon Zero West in particular caused quite the controversy when they announced (and later had to backtrack) on its next-gen upgrade path. Who's to say updates won't also get parceled off eventually? Regardless, it's something that all Stranded Deep players will soon be able to enjoy.
