The digital games giant Steam may be looking at added functionality for its upcoming living room devices. Like the Apple TV and the Fire TV, Valve talked in the past about the possibility of the Steam Machine being used for things like streaming music or movies and using services like Netflix or Spotify. Coming thanks to @steamdb, we can see plans may already be in motion.

Mentioned in the same guise as DLC, application, demos, etc, also present are 'film', 'music', and 'tvseries'. What makes this exciting is the possibility of applying steam sales to a selection of purchasable movies, so we may just see a new era of digital downloads for film if that would turn out successful. Steam Universe, the over arching brand of the steam machines, is still in beta, but is expected for a 2015 launch.
