This week in State of the Game we'll be covering the week from the 27th of March to the 2nd of April. Apart from the number of games released this week, which was a bit higher than normal, the rest of the top level stats are all down from last week. The high number of releases has definitely influenced the number of games bought and not played, which is up significantly. Still, with one major release and a smattering of others, the differences aren't too far off the average.

Fallout Shelter takes out the top spot this week with a rather impressive 18,000+ players on average. The game has been available on PC for quite some time now through the but was only just recently made available through Steam. Considering that it's also been available for almost 2 years on other platforms the number of players it has attracted on Steam is quite impressive. Those stats are holding well long after its Steam debut too with last week's average player count still hovering around 16,000.

The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is this week's most trending game, due to a well-timed sale and the release of episode 3 of this installment. On average there's usually more users playing the earlier installments in the franchise, with the original typically averaging double the concurrent users of A New Frontier. 3 weeks after the new episode and sale it seems that this trend will be continuing for the foreseeable future with the numbers returning to their normal levels. This is likely due to the dreaded "Telltale Fatigue" that appears to be plaguing many of the studio's many releases with users beginning to look elsewhere for their story first game fix.

That's all for this week's post but we'd love to hear your feedback on these stats, what you think of this week's games and if there's any other data you'd like to see.
