Today on State of the Game we'll be covering the week from the 6th to the 12th of March. Top level stats are a bit of a mixed bag when compared to last week although two key stats, average player count and average hours played, are significantly up. This is solely due to Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands which takes out this week's top spot. The rest of the top 5 games this week do have respectable stats however with all of them commanding strong play times.

It's worth spending some time to break down just how successful Ghost Recon: Wildlands was during its opening week. The average play time of 27.3 hours means that your average player was spending about 4 hours a day in the game, a feat typically reserved for MMORPGs or clicker style games. Also the fact that the vast majority of players, over 97% of them, bought and played the game shows just how hotly anticipated it was. Due to the open beta just a couple weeks prior it was pretty clear that Ghost Recon: Wildlands was going to be successful but this is definitely a step above most of this year's AAA releases.

Of the trending titles this week only one is a non-sale: Turmoil. Whilst that's probably not interest in and of itself, numerous other games included that bundle (the Humble Jumbo Bundle 8, to be precise) didn't see as much of a boost as Turmoil did. The reasoning behind this seems to be that a few of the games were included in the monthly and other recent bundles, meaning many faithful bundlers already had the games being offered. Rather than double up many would have simply avoided this bundle altogether leading to an interesting picture overall in this week's State of the Game.
