Starship Troopers: Extermination has been out there in the world for a little while, and now, Offworld Industries has shared the game's Early Access roadmap. Content making its way to the multiplayer shooter over the next few months includes a horde mode, a class progression overhaul, and more.
On the Starship Troopers: Extermination Steam page, Offworld sets out its vision for the future of Extermination after its release last month. Amusingly, the post is written in character, so Offworld refers to its roadmap as a "dossier" that's going to help you "dropkick...Bug asses into the nearest black hole". The roadmap could change as the months go by, but it's a good snapshot of what you're likely going to get if you keep playing Extermination.
Phase One has already landed, bringing the two main Starship Troopers: Extermination game modes: Assault and Secure and ARC Slam. In Phase Two, you're getting mutators (which Offworld will reveal more about soon), as well as a horde game mode, new player profiles and stat tracking, manned HMG emplacements, and a new area in Valaka to explore and defend from bugs.
The third Early Access roadmap phase brings a class progression overhaul and an upgrade to player abilities, as well as insect hives to deal with. You'll also see a rewards system implemented during this phase, and special weapon swapping will be added to the game.
Phase Four brings a player hub, emotes, and clans, giving players new ways to interact with one another in Starship Troopers: Extermination. New weapons and a new planet will also be added, along with a boss bug to take down, giving you a bigger challenge while you're defending Valaka.
Finally, in Phase Five, a Galactic War meta-game element will be added, as well as player customization features, a new class, and a global death counter so you can see how many troopers have sacrificed themselves for the greater good. Oh, and this phase is also bringing "more gore", so if you thought Starship Troopers: Extermination wasn't violent and bloody enough, this is the phase for you.
