The trailer for Bethesda's Starfield has been accidentally leaked early via The Washington Post. The trailer ends with the Starfield release date: November 11th, 2022.

Even with that leaked trailer, not too much is known about Bethesda's Starfield. We know it has a sci-fi setting created by one of gaming's top tier worldmakers, but there's no indication yet what kind of game Starfield is actually going to be. Considering it's one of the big games in Bethesda's future catalogue, it wouldn't be too surprising to see gameplay similar to their popular Elder Scrolls of Fallout series.

The end of the trailer notes that it Starfield will be coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC on that date. There was nothing noting it would be coming to the PlayStation 5. Considering that Microsoft now owns Bethesda, that's not too surprising.

Additionally, a short video about the making of Starfield was put out along with the reveal trailer. Todd Howard speaks about how Bethesda has created a big universe, but never done something in the stars. Now, that they feel the technology is at a place they believe they can craft the universe they want, they started work on Starfield.

Todd continues throughout that video to talk about how Starfield is about hope and humanity. How the game is about collectively coming together and searching to answer the biggest questions humanity has about the universe. He didn't go into the exact questions we'll be seeking to answer, but this is a pretty standard baseline for a lot of sci-fi stories and settings. Obviously, there's a lot of different ways they can go from here.

Right now, it's unknown if those two videos are all that is going to be shown at the press conference later today. In any case, whether it is today or in the future, we'll all be learning a lot more about what Starfield is exactly.
