Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone has announced the Stardew Valley Update 1.6 console and mobile release date, and the massive update is due to land later this fall.
In a message on X (formerly Twitter), Barone confirms that Update 1.6 will arrive on all of the consoles on which Stardew Valley is currently available (and yes, that includes the Switch), as well as iOS and Android devices, on November 4th.
Barone also confirms that the update will include the 1.6.9 revision, which adds a bunch of new stuff like work portraits for Sam and Shane at JojaMart, as well as bringing balance changes and bug fixes.
If you're wondering why the update arrived on PC months before it's coming to consoles and mobile devices, Barone has a handy explanation for you.
He says that he releases Stardew Valley updates on PC first as a kind of "beta test" to ensure there aren't any critical bugs before releasing on console, because issues on consoles "can't be patched out as quickly".
Barone also has some advice for you if you're considering starting a new farm for Update 1.6. He says that it's possible to experience all of the update's new content with an existing farm, but that if you have "any interest in starting a new farm", then doing so would be ideal.
In case you need a refresher, Stardew Valley Update 1.6 is a massive update for the popular farming sim that arrived back in March on PC.
The update's extensive patch notes include a new farm type to start with, as well as new festivals, more NPC dialogue, and winter clothing for NPCs to help them wrap up warm during the colder months.
Stardew Valley Update 1.6 arrives across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices on November 4th. The game is also available for PC right now, as is Update 1.6.
