The Stardew Valley 1.4 Update is "coming along very well" according to its developer. Previously, Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone had assumed sole control of the game for many of the platforms on which it's published. Furthermore, he's decided to bring in a team of people to help him with future content updates. That means that the Stardew Valley 1.4 Update is likely to be the last content update solely created by ConcernedApe.

"Simultaneously, the next free content update (1.4) is coming along very well, it's packed with new stuff and 'quality of life' features that will make playing Stardew smoother and more fun," Mr. Barone said via Twitter. "[One] example is the ability to pay Marlon to recover a lost item when you 'die' in the mines!"

Mr. Barone continued on to explain in a subsequent tweet that many of these features would be available in both singleplayer and multiplayer gameplay. While there are plans for an indeterminate amount of exclusive multiplayer features, there are no plans for singleplayer-exclusive content at this time.

The tweets regarding the 1.4 Update came out today following an update about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One multiplayer update which is still dealing with some technical hurdles. While PC players have been enjoying multiplayer Stardew Valley for some time, it still has yet to make it way to either Microsoft or Sony's flagship consoles. The Nintendo Switch version of the game had multiplayer debuted towards the end of 2018.

If you don't already own one of the best farming RPGs out there today, you can get Stardew Valley on PC via Steamthe Humble Store, or DRM-free on GOG for $14.99 or your regional equivalent.  Console gamers can get it for the Nintendo SwitchXbox One, or PlayStation 4 at their respective storefronts and mobile gamers can get it for Android and iOS at the Play Store and iTunes, respectively.
