A new Star Wars Outlaws update is available, and it's bringing yet more fixes to the game's stealth systems across a variety of missions, plus changes to speeder travel and more.
First up, stealth has been improved in "False Flag" and other missions, with a view to giving players "more flexibility in how they approach situations without the risk of failing". This change is likely intended to address the same stealth criticisms being targeted in previous Outlaws updates.
Ubisoft and Massive have also reduced speeder collisions with objects in the world, so while you're racing your speeder through one of Star Wars Outlaws' planets, you probably won't bump into random debris quite as much now.
NPC combat behavior and AI speeder avoidance have also been improved, and the game should now autosave more frequently in hostile areas like Imperial compounds and faction territories.
These changes come alongside a wealth of other quality-of-life improvements and performance fixes. You can read the full Star Wars Outlaws Update 1.3.0 patch notes right here if you want to see what's new.
As well as this update, Ubisoft has also introduced a new bug reporter for Star Wars Outlaws, so if you encounter a glitch, you can now inform the development team directly or browse a list of existing glitches to find out if yours is among them.
This new Star Wars Outlaws update arrives not long after Ubisoft admitted that the game has underperformed in sales terms, leading (among other things) to a rethink in how the studio approaches game development and monetization.
If you're not familiar with Star Wars Outlaws (and Ubisoft's sales figures suggest you may well not be), it's an open-world Star Wars action-adventure game that casts you as scoundrel Kay Vess.
You'll explore planets and engage in a mixture of Ubisoft's traditional stealth, open combat, and mostly-linear climbing sequences, and you'll also get a chance to see an as-yet untold chapter of the Star Wars universe (that's right, another one).
Star Wars Outlaws is available right now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, and it's also coming to Steam in November. You can read our review here if you want to know what our very own Erren thought of Kay Vess' inaugural adventure.
