Next month a new Star Wars movie comes out. To celebrate this, Star Wars Battlefront's fourth expansion will also release, and it's based on the upcoming movie.

Titled Rogue One: Scarif, the new expansion will be adding more content to Star Wars Battlefront including new heroes and maps. The big feature is that there will be four new maps based on the planet of Scarif, which you may recognize as the tropical planet in the trailer for Rogue One. The expansion will also add two more hero characters to the game. The Rebels will get Rogue One main protagonist Jyn Erso, while the Empire will get antagonist Orson Krennic. This expansion is the last one that will be offered in the Season Pass and will release December 6th. You can purchase it separately for $15 or as part of the $50 Season Pass.

If you've been on the fence about Star Wars Battlefront's expansions, EA is also opening them up for you to try. From November 17th until November 20th the maps and game modes from the first three expansions will be free to try for all owners of Star Wars Battlefront. You'll have to buy them once the weekend is over, but it gives you a chance to give them new maps a shot. The weekend will also feature quadruple XP to make leveling easier. While this will be the last expansion for Star Wars Battlefront, EA thanked the players and promised that there will be "quite a few things to look forward to."

Owners of PlayStation VR will also get an extra bonus in the form of Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission. Free to all owners of Star Wars Battlefront, this extra bonus is a VR mission that puts you in the cockpit of an X-Wing fighter. The exact details haven't been revealed yet, but the mission will be developed by Criterion Games and it will tie into the upcoming movie somehow. The X-Wing VR Mission will be available at the same time as the new expansion.

In addition to all this, there is also the release of the Star Wars Battlefront: Ultimate Edition on November 18. Leaked earlier this year on Amazon, the Ultimate Edition has the full Star Wars Battlefront game, along with its season pass for a reduced price of $40, making it cost less than the season pass did. Ahead of its release, EA released a new trailer for the Ultimate Edition that you can see below.

Star Wars Battlefront is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The Rogue One: Scarif expansion and X-Wing VR Mission will both be available on December 6th. If you want to pick up the Ultimate Edition, you can order it on Amazon for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (affiliate links) before its release.
