Left Alive is a brand new IP just revealed by Square Enix that is coming both to the PlayStation 4 and Steam sometime during 2018. The game was revealed with a trailer during a PlayStation conference in Japan earlier today, and the accompanying press release promises that more information concerning the game will come later this week during the Tokyo Games Show.

You can check out the teaser trailer for Left Alive below:

The press release describes the upcoming game as a "brand-new survival action shooter." However, as of right now, we still don't really know what any of this means. We don't even know yet whether this is a first or third-person shooter, nor do we know how intense the survival aspects of the game will be.

However, we do know a bit about some of the names attached to the game. Left Alive is being produced by Shinji Hashimoto, who is currently also the Final Fantasy brand manager for Square Enix, and the character designer for Left Alive is Yoji Shinkawa from the Metal Gear series. The game is being directed by Toshifumi Nabeshima, who also directed games from the Armored Core series.

Left Alive Key Art

The above key art may give us a little more information about the type of world we can expect from Left Alive. The surrounding environment looks like a gritty, post-apocalyptic city covered in snow, much like what we saw from the teaser. Also, judging from helicopters flying in the trailer and some of the names attached to this game, I think it would be safe to assume this game will take place in the future and include advanced technology like mechs.

Takayuki Yanase is another name attached to this game, and he has designed mechs for past IPs such as Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00,  and Xenoblade Chronicles X. So yeah, I'd say the probability that there are mechs in Left Alive is pretty high.

Again, while we don't know much about Left Alive at the moment, Square Enix promises that we will learn more during TGS 2017.

Are you excited for this new IP from Square Enix? What did you think of the teaser trailer? Let us know in the comment section below!
