At the Square Enix E3 2019 show the company showed off their brand-new game, Marvel Avengers. Although the new trailer didn't show off any gameplay for the new title just yet, it did show off an interesting chunk of story and set pieces, including the designs and voice actors behind the main cast. The team in Marvel Avengers seems to be at least partially based on the team from the cinematic universe, although their character designs are definitely different from the actors that portrayed them on the silver screen.
The story in Marvel Avengers seems to take place in a dark period of time for The Avengers. Set 5 years after A-Day, a day meant to celebrate The Avengers, the whole team appears to have become disillusioned after failing to protect people from some sort of huge disaster in the making. One scene showed off seems to depict Bruce Banner and Tony Stark fighting in the wilderness, with Tony attempting to absolve himself of blame, and Bruce claiming that the Avengers had failed to protect people.
The voice team behind the new adaptation of The Avengers is pretty damn star-studded. Nolan North will be taking the role of the wisecracking Tony Stark, with Troy Baker filling the giant green boots of Bruce Banner, also known as the hulk. Jeff Schine will depict the team's leader, Captain America, with Travis Willingham as Thor and Laura Bailey as Black Widow. There was also some new content relating to future updates, which will add new locations and heroes to play in, as well as the news of online co-op multiplayer. All future heroes and areas to be added to the game will be free for all players, and the game will have no loot boxes or pay-to-win type scenarios.
Although the game will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Stadia, and PC on May 15th, 2020, PlayStation gamers will get early access to the title, as well as 'special privileges' to be announced at a future date.
