Cantaloupe Kids' pop-up puzzle game The Spiral Scouts has added achievements and trading cards in the title's first post-launch patch according to an announcement on the game's Steam Community page.
The Spiral Scouts is a puzzle game where players take on the role of Remae, the newest recruit to the titular scouting organization. You're out to earn badges, and badges are best earned by helping people. Unfortunately, these people have problems that often manifest themselves in the style of devious puzzles for you to figure out. Our review praised the game for the many brain teasers you'll have to work through along with some really great musical tracks.
The game's first post-launch patch brings with it a couple of nice frills for Steam players - achievements and trading cards. If you have enough time in the game to have qualified for a trading card drop you should have automatically received it by now. Achievements will also be retroactively awarded to players but they'll have to load up their saved game to receive them. The majority of the achievements are awarded 1:1 for each badge that you collect, although there are a few hidden achievements for players to uncover that might not be strictly tied to specific badges.
Aside from trading cards and achievements, the keyboard controls from the game have been slightly modified. Previously, players would move Remae with the arrow keys and use the Q, W, and E keys for in-game actions. These keys have been changed to Z, X, and C and the on-screen prompts have been adjusted accordingly. A number of minor technical issues and spelling mistakes in the game's dialogue have also been corrected in this patch.
If you haven't yet picked up The Spiral Scouts for yourself, you can grab it right now on Steam or via the Humble Store for $9.99 or your regional equivalent. The game's 10% launch discount is still available on Steam until roughly 1:00 PM Eastern Time, so act fast if you're keen on saving a buck!
