Haterz get mad, because Soulja Boy is in the video game console business with his new Soulja Game Console and SouljaGame Handheld.
The SouljaGame Console and Handheld are basically glorified emulation machines, but they're jampacked with games. The legality of the whole thing is certainly dubious, but you can shell out $149.99 for this super fresh console, or $99.99 for the handheld.
The console, which looks suspiciously like a white Xbox One X, comes with over 800 games for the PlayStation, Neo Geo, PC, Sega, GameBoy Advance, and NES. At least, that's what it says, although there doesn't seem to be any official list out there.
The SouljaGame Console seems to come with a controller that will surely look a little familiar to you. You can take a look at the button configurations in the image below. I'm just confused that it has a "C" button that does nothing, apparently.
The SouljaGame Handheld is a cheaper alternative and comes with 3000 games for, as the website claims, "Switch/3DS/Vita/NEOGEO/GBC/Gameboy/GBA." The graphic, on the other hand, is supposed to have "NEOGEO, GBA, GBC, FC, CP1 and MD" games.
As for the functionality of the console, it can connect to TVs with a port at the top. It has a standard A/B/X/Y button layout with a left and right triggers, a directional pad, and a start and select button.
Both the SouljaGame Console and Handheld are created by ANBERNIC, a company that creates these emulation consoles. The company's 64-bit handheld console looks, frankly, exactly the same as the SouljaGame brand and is less expensive, but I guess that value of it stems from the name. One look at the list of games on the handheld console on Amazon definitely brings questions about the legality of said games when including various Pokemon titles and others
Where the SouljaGame brand goes next, it's anyone's guess, but stay tuned to TechRaptor when more on this story inevitably transpires.
Quick TakeI'm a little confused by this and I can't say for certain why anyone would want a SouljaGame console, but who am I to judge? The legality of the matter is a little sketchy, especially since some of the images on the site feature iconic video game characters and games. The details on the machines themselves are sparse too, but I guess we'll have to wait and see if there's anything worthwhile about the devices.
