First announced at Paris Games Week 2017 and showing up again last year at E3, Concrete Genie finally has a concrete release set for later this year. This action adventure title developed by PixelOpus follows Ash, a young boy who likes to doodle in his notebook. When bullies rip out his drawings and scatter them through town, Ash must venture forth to recover them. Once he finds a magic paintbrush, he can bring his creations to life to help him on his journey to refill his notebook and bring his town back from the darkness.

As you'd imagine, art plays a big part in what makes Concrete Genie special. Ash can paint on every all in Denska, the city you're exploring throughout the game. In this way, Creative Director Dominic Robilliard hopes that each player's version of Denska will be distinct and unique.

We’ve invested so much effort into making these mechanics easy and intuitive for players to express themselves. We’ve had the opportunity to demo Concrete Genie at events around the globe and have been blown away by the response to gameplay so far.

During State of Play, Sony revealed that Concrete Genie PSVR support will be coming with two optional and distinct modes. The "living paint" mechanics from the story mode will be the focus of this first-person painting experience. Developed by a separate internal Sony team, this and another virtual reality mode will come free of charge alongside the main game.

Concrete Genie is the second game by PiexlOpus following 2014's Entwined. The game will currently release in Fall 2019 release exclusively on PlayStation 4.
