Shawn Layden, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, takes the stage to give us the first announcement for Sony this E3. After a long time, almost seven years in development hell, it seems we are finally seeing more of The Last Guardian. The Last Guardian is the third game to be made by Team Ico, the group behind Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.
This gameplay trailer shows us of all the ways that the playable character, the little boy, is going to be exploring the world around him through normal means such as climbing, running and jumping as well as interacting with the guardian to help navigate. This isn't just a one way street though cause it is also the responsibility of the boy to help the guardian whenever there is a place that can not be gotten past whether it be a small enough space or even something scare in the way.
This is a type of symbiotic relationship that we have know to expect in Team Ico games that is reflected between the horned boy and princess in Ico and even the boy and his horse in Shadow of the Colossus. The final scene of this game play trailer announces that The Last Guardian will be released in 2016.
