The current pandemic situation won't stop Microsoft and Sony from making sure their next-generation consoles release on time. We already know more details about the Xbox Series X, and with PS5 fans eager to hear more about the platform following the innovative DualSense controller reveal, it was about time Sony makes a move. The studio's latest blog post, written by President & CEO Jim Ryan, announces the Future of Gaming virtual event to reveal more details on the console, its launch titles, and what to expect during the initial period of its launch.

So far, we have seen a number of developers and publishers confirm their titles for both Xbox Series X and PS5. However, the latter was on the receiving end of numerous AAA titles, including the likes of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Battlefield 6, Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs Legion, and many more. It is highly possible we will get to see trailers and gameplay videos of how these titles plan on the next-generation of consoles, utilizing the upgraded firepower the team put into the PS5. Not only that, Ryan promises we will get to see a bunch of indie titles to mix it up. This brings memories back to Resogun, the indie title from Housemarque that was featured as one of the first titles on PlayStation Plus' monthly games offering.

The Future of Gaming event takes place on Sony's Twitch or YouTube on June 4 at 1pm PDT / 9pm BST / 10pm CEST. Make sure to check out the studio's Road to PS5 video back in March, where Jim Ryan talks more about the studio's plans for the console.

What are your prediction for the PlayStation 5 launch titles lineup? Will the COVID-19 situation hinder some of Sony's initial plans for the console's release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
