Sonic the Hedgehog's Tails will be starring in a new informative show as a Vtuber, promising to tell the world about "all things Sonic" starting next week.
With the second Sonic the Hedgehog movie arriving early next month, it seems that Sega is ramping up promotion for the film in various ways. One of its avenues of advertisement perfectly fits the meme-laden antics of the Sonic the Hedgehog Twitter -- Tails is going to be starring in his own informative show as a VTuber.
We're excited to announce: TailsTube! A fun and informative, Tails-hosted show about all things Sonic, coming to you next week! pic.twitter.com/yDTMAZHjgU— Sonic the Hedgehog (@sonic_hedgehog) March 17, 2022
Tails Stars in TailsTube, a New, Informative Sonic the Hedgehog Show
Tailstube is the name of the new show starring Sonic the Hedgehog's Tails as highlighted by ResetEra. This new show will presumably launch on YouTube in some fashion, although it's unclear whether it will be part of the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel or if it will get its own dedicated channel.
"I wanted to let you all know that I'm starting my own show!" Tails said in the announcement video. "I can't wait to tell you all more about me and my friends, answer some frequently asked questions, and maybe even bring some special guests on the show! I'm publishing the first one next week. See you then!"
As with most VTubers, we don't really know who the actor is behind this character. The VTuber rig certainly looks pretty solid as far as they go, and I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Sonic himself show up at some point.
VTubers are a popular phenomenon where content creators can take on the role of a digital character using motion capture. Aside from tons of popular personalities around the world, some fans have gone as far as to create rigs for iconic characters like Mario.
Whatever this show will be about, we're sure to find out more about it next week. In the meantime, you can look forward to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 debuting in theaters on April 8, 2022.
