SNK has announced a new mini-console. The NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro will act as both controller and console and will come with 20 classic SNK fighting games pre-installed.

We don't yet know what games the console will launch with. Given that it's an SNK product, you can expect flagship franchises like Fatal FuryKing of Fighters, and Samurai Shodown to make an appearance. SNK mascot Terry Bogard was recently announced as an upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter, so the timing of SNK's newest console makes a lot of sense. We'll bring you more on the NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro's lineup as we get it.

The console itself looks pretty cool. It's a controller based on the NEOGEO CD's design, but it's been blown up to fighting stick size. (If you're wondering, the dimensions are as follows: W 43cm x D 21.5cm x H 12.5cm.) You'll have access to two modes: Arcade Stick Mode and Console Mode. In the former, the NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro will simply act as a controller. You can then plug it into a NEOGEO mini or a PC for what SNK calls "a solid experience". In Console Mode, you can connect the console to your TV via HDMI and take advantage of its 20 built-in games.

If you're wondering about two-player, wonder no more. SNK says you can attach a controller from the NEOGEO mini for a second player. You can also pair up a second NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro for two-player shenanigans. This being an SNK console, it's likely most of the offerings will support two players. SNK is planning to launch the NEOGEO Arcade Stick Pro worldwide, although we don't have a specific release date or price range yet. Stay tuned for more info. In the meantime, you can follow SNK's official Facebook and Twitter feeds for more news.
