Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 was originally slated for release sometime in 2016, but that release date was later moved to January 27, 2017. However, CI Games is pushing that release date back again to April 4, 2017, so that the studio can fully optimize the game across all platforms.
The developers also stated in a press release that they are working on improving the game based on feedback that they have received from press, streamers, and fans.
Here's what CI Games CEO Marek Tymiński had to say about the delay:
Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimizing the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished. I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole.Check out a recent trailer for the game below. However, keep in mind that the release date shown at the end of the trailer is no longer the correct one:
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 takes place in northern Georgia, near the Russian border. You play as American sniper Jonathan North, who is tasked with official United States missions as well as a personal mission; to find his brother. The game is a first-person shooter that boasts an open-world map.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is currently scheduled for April 4th, 2017.
