Rebellion has announced the Sniper Elite 3 Switch release date will be will arriving on October 1st in both physical and digital versions for the Ultimate Edition.
Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition was announced with some unique features for the Nintendo Switch version. First of all, it features local multiplayer with wireless multiplayer for both the 2-player co-op campaign and competitive multiplayer against up to 4 players. This is in addition to the general online multiplayer that Sniper Elite 3 has had in other editions. Additionally, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition on Switch will make use of HD Rumble to let you feel bullet impacts and let you further finetune aiming with gyroscope controls. As with most Nintendo Switch games, you also have Pro Controller support.
If you don't know it, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition is a tactical third-person shooter set in World War 2, with a focus on sniping and tactical decisions. You can use stealth, traps, and other tools to set up and take out your opponents in large multi-route levels with a variety of main and secondary objectives. As always, the game features the series staple X-Ray Kill cam, as well as vehicular X-Ray takedowns that let you see the destruction of humans and vehicles alike. The main game takes place in a relatively little-explored part of World War 2 - North Africa in 1942.
That said, Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition also includes all the DLC released for the game, including a series of missions where you save Winston Churchill from assassination and a separate mission where you get the chance to assassinate Hitler. This is alongside a series of cosmetics that are available to help you customize the way your character and guns look.
Sniper Elite 3 Switch release date is set for October 1. Preorders for the physical edition are open now at participating retailers, and digital preorders will be available September 17th.
