The next free game for the Epic Game Store's yearlong giveaway has been announced as Slime Rancher. Slimes are usually the baddies in most games, but this lovely little game from Monomi Park makes them your adorable friends. Legendary rancher Hobson Twillgers has passed his property on to you and you just have to make a short trip of one thousand light years to claim it. After arriving, you'll learn all about your goopy friends and how to raise them.

Throughout the course of Slime Rancher, you'll vacuum up slimes, stick 'em in pens, and watch them grow. Raise chickens for slime food, grow crops, upgrade your gun, and craft all sorts of functional and decorative items! This game features three different game modes (Adventure, Casual, and Rush), an expansive world with lots to discover, and the possibility to create over 150 different hybrid slimes. Slime Rancher is the next game in a long line of free titles being given away completely for free on the Epic Games Store and follows Thimbleweed Park in the rotation. A new game is being given away every two weeks for the first year of the store's operation in order to attract more people to the platform. You can see these games and other fine titles at the Epic Games Store.

You'll be able to get your hands on Slime Rancher for free on its Epic Games Store page starting March 7, 2019, over at the Epic Games Store. In the meantime, you're now able to get Thimbleweed Park at no cost for the next two weeks on its store page, so head on over there and snag yourself a free copy! If you're Epic-adverse, you can also grab it on Steam for $19.99 or your regional equivalent. Don't forget to check out our Beginner's Guide!
