Five years ago The Sims 4 came out, which almost seems kind of absurd when you think about it. Its really been five whole years. Maxis is choosing to celebrate this milestone by adding in some free content for its users.

The new free content mostly focuses on two things. The first is configurable stairs, which means you can twist and turn stairs to make something a little more unique. This lets you make a staircase that twists and turns, spiraling in weird ways. It also means you can probably remake Hogwarts. Smart to time this one with the upcoming magic-based DLC? Probably.

The rest of the free content is more objects for you to place or dress your Sims up as. These objects and clothes are based on Middle Eastern and Muslim culture. You'll be able to build houses using their architectural style, and give your Sims hijabs or kufi. There's also a few new generic items you can buy, such as outdoor directional lights for when you want to light up part of the house, new lawn chairs and tables, and a fence with built in lights. My favorite? There's a little garden gnome butler that you can have Sims put small items, such as soda cans, on. I'm going to fill a house with them.

If you're interested in The Sims 4 the game is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It recently put out the vacation/mermaid based DLC Island Living, which you can read our thoughts on here. The next expansion, Realm of Magic, is set to launch on September 10th for PC, with the Ps4 and One version following on October 15th.

How do you feel about this content? Going to dive into Sims 4 again? Want to 1v1 me in building a house in Simsville? Let us know in the comments below!
