Warner Bros and Avalanche Software have given us a first look at the Hogwarts Legacy voice cast, and there's a pretty big star at its center. Star Trek and Shaun of the Dead star Simon Pegg voices a major character in the game, and he's joined by Downton Abbey veteran Lesley Nicol, as well as plenty more talent.

Per a press release, Pegg will play Hogwarts headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black, an ancestor of Sirius Black and a generally unpleasant man, by the sounds of things. Black and his students have a mutual disdain for one another; he's trying to "do the least amount of work possible", according to Warner Bros.

There's also a prominent role in the game for British actress Lesley Nicol, who voices the deputy headmistress Professor Matilda Weasley (yes, that Weasley family). She'll be an invaluable aid to you when you start your journey in the Wizarding World, as you might expect from a Weasley.

Other members of the cast include Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething, who are playing the two different voice options for the player avatar. Actress Kandace Caine plays a Divination teacher, and Astronomy teacher Satyavati Shah is voiced by Prey: Mooncrash actress Sohm Kapila.

If you're a fan of the Harry Potter movies, you might recognize the name behind Ravenclaw prankster Everett Clopton; he's played by Luke Youngblood, who portrayed Gryffindor Lee Jordan in the films. Other actors include Asif Ali as Ravenclaw student Amit Thakkar, Adam O'Connor as Mahendra Pehlwaan, and Jason Anthony in a dual role as Nearly Headless Nick and the Sorting Hat.

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action-RPG set in the Wizarding World of the Harry Potter books and movies. It's coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 10th, with a last-gen version also arriving this July, and it'll take you into a 19th-century version of Hogwarts, where you'll need to unravel the mystery behind the reappearance of an ancient and dangerous form of magic.
