Are you interested in saving the world? You'll be able to this fall in Squad 51 Vs. The Flying Saucers, a 2D shoot 'em up coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Players will travel through the 1950s with Lieutenant Kaya and her team to face off against aliens, flying saucers, and the hideous Director Zarog along with other boss battles. Let's take a look at it, shall we?

What's Squad 51 Vs. The Flying Saucers all about?

When a group of aliens called the Vega Corporation arrives to visit Earth, promising unlimited resources, a darker side of the corporation is shown and an uprising begins. Lieutenant Kaya and her squad band quickly together to save the planet, and players will be able to experience the story in live-action cutscenes and dubbed voiceovers in black and white.

It's going to take a lot of work to save the world.

There are 11 levels to play through that range from snow mountains, busy cities, and dense forests to defeating wave after wave of alien ships. If you fancy yourself a pilot, there are multiple difficulty levels for both veterans and rookies to shoot through. If you don't want to do it alone, players will also be able to invite a friend to enter levels at any point in time and earn points to work together and unlock new weapons and upgrades.

If this sounds like a swell idea, there's Squadron 51 - Prologue, which can be downloaded and played through right now. It includes 3 levels and will definitely give you an indication of whether or not this world-saving business is for you. If it is, there is also a Discord you can check out here.
