Shoestring Gaming

That time again for Shoestring Gaming, where we lay out the best deals of the week so you can get more games for your money. Also take a look at some free-to-play titles old and new. Remember, most of these deals are only for a short amount of time. This week the sales aren't quite as extravagant, but there's always something, and if you know of any deals that don't get listed below, share them below. Keep in mind TechRaptor does make money on some of these links.

Dropsy
Dropsy is 10% off at GOG.

On Green Man Gaming, VIP members as usual can get some good deals on popular titles like H1Z1Far Cry 3, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. All you have to do to get these deals is sign up for an account. Also keep an eye on the front page for their weekly voucher, which you can use on your entire purchase. If you haven't gotten your copy of Mad Max yet, you can still get 40% off at GMG with the code MADMAX-SAVE40-MADMAX.

At GOG you can get some new games at a discount, as well as a discount on some games on preorder. Get 15% off the new Witcher 3 DLC Heart of Stone or 10% of your preorder of the horror game SOMA. Also new this week, you can get a small discount on the Devolver title Dropsy (check out our preview and interview with the developer).

At Gamersgate, celebrate zombies by saving on many zombie related titles including Zombie Army Trilogy and Dead Island. Also tons of Sniper Elite and King's Bounty on sale right now.

GamesRepublic always has massive sales. Go to their page and find their Monster Sale tab in order to see games up to 80% off. This week's notable titles include the entire Hitman Collection for only $10, F1 from 2010 to 2013, and indie titles such as Quantum Conundrum

At the TechRaptor GameFanShop you can get tons of recently released games all for considerably less than what you would get them for anywhere else. This includes titles like Mad Max, Mortal Kombat X, and Zombi. You can also use the code Raptorean to save even more.

If you aren't satisfied just buying games and want to give a little back, you can check on Humble Bundle's new monthly sale, themed around Tom Clancy. Pay as much as you want in increments for games like Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon, and a part of your purchase will go to support Extra Life and Operation Supply Drop. In the weekly "Super Slam Showdown" bundle, you can get games like No Time to Explain and Stardust Vanguard and also donate to The Able Gamers and the micro-lending site Zidisha.

Battlefield Hardline
Battlefield Hardline has cheap add-ons for Xbox players.

I have not forgotten you console gamers. Xbox owners, if you're a fan of Battlefield, this week Xbox has a ton of sales for add-ons, and you can get the Battlefield Hardline: Ultimate Edition for almost 75% off with your Gold membership. Xbox One Gold users can also get discounts on other Battlefield titles, and Xbox 360 Gold users can get Assassin's Creed titles for cheap.

Playstation is celebrating its 20-year anniversary with a massive sale, with titles up to 70% off for regular users and 80% off for Playstation Plus subscribers. This is across all Playstation systems including classic games. There's over 100 games, Ultra Street Fighter IV and Dragon Age: Origins. This sale is going until September 15th.

The weekend sale for Steam this week features Bandai-Namco titles. Get up to 75% on games like Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and Pacman: Championship Edition. As always Steam has tons of individual sales. Right now the big ones include Saints Row IV for 80% off, and Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for 75% off. There's also The Witcher 3DmC: Devil May Cry, and you could go on forever. Here's the full list of everything for sale on Steam right now

Now, what's new for free? If you don't have any money to speak of, you can check out the cooperative multi-player game ORBIZ, the current top rated new release on GameJolt. Also popular this week is the in-development XYDONIA, inspired by the horizontal shooters for the 90s. They also both have nice music, so that's a plus. On itch.io, if you have not already seen it, check out Half Line: Miami, the mash-up between Half-Life and Hotline: Miami.
