Shenmue 3 is back on the crowd funding market. After the vastly successful kickstarter campaign that netted over $6 million dollars from 69,000 backers, developer Ys Net is still looking for more fans to join in the project. The company has began a second crowd funding campaign, this time on Slacker Backer, to net more fans into the mix.

"For everyone who could not participate in the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter, we have heard your voice!" stated a blurb at the top of Slacker Backer. "Here is one more chance to show your support and make Shenmue 3 even better. All funding collected here will be added to the Kickstarter total for the game’s development." All proceeds earned in the Slacker Backer campaign are also going to Ys Net, and not their partners Sony or Shibuya Productions.

The Slacker Backer campaign is essentially set up just like the kickstarter campaign, although it does change up a few of the possible rewards. The original Ryo's Jacket, worn at press events by Masaya Matsukaze, had its price lowered from $10,000 to $8,000. Most of the bundles have been bunched together, and are still available from $100 to $5,000. Only the Ryo statues are currently sold out at this time.

The Slacker Backer campaign will last until the end of the year, with 104 days to go until its conclusion. Ys Net is hoping to achieve more stretch goals for Shenmue 3, including improving the in-game combat by expanding the battle system, tweaking enemy AI, adding ragdoll physics, and expanding the options of mini-games, gambling games, part time jobs, and even the game-world that you can explore.

Shenmue 3 was first announced at the Sony E3 press conference earlier this year. A surprise announcement, it was confirmed that Sony was teaming up with the original development team behind the Shenmue series to bring the game to light, and launching a kickstarter to drum up extra support for the title.

Shenmue 3 is slated for a release on the Playstation 4 in 2017.
