There's a bit of bad news for fans of first-person shooters: Flying Wild Hog has announced that the Shadow Warrior 3 release date has been delayed beyond 2021.
Shadow Warrior 3 is (as the name implies) the third game in the revitalized Shadow Warrior franchise. It was first announced last summer and slated for a 2021 release; a few months later, Embracer Group acquired Flying Wild Hog's parent company. Unfortunately, it looks like Shadow Warrior 3 isn't quite going to make it out this year; check out the silly new trailer released by Flying Wild Hog announcing the delay:
"Shadow Warrior 3 needs a bit more time to sharpen its blades so developer Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital are sliding it into early next year!" read an announcement on Steam (via ResetEra).
This isn't the first time a Shadow Warrior game has been delayed; Shadow Warrior 2 was pushed back a month from September 2016 to October 2016 and the game's console release was delayed even longer than that.
When is the Shadow Warrior 3 Release Date?
The Shadow Warrior 3 release date will be sometime in 2022. A more specific release date has not yet been announced for this sequel.
Although the Shadow Warrior 3 release date delay is disappointing, it's probably best to give the developers time to make the game as good as possible. In the meantime, there's plenty of fun to be had with the first two games; you can buy Shadow Warrior and Shadow Warrior 2 for PC and consoles via their respective official websites starting at $39.99 or your regional equivalent apiece.
