The official trailer for Shadow of Mordor's upcoming DLC "The Bright Lord" released today. It features the ultimate Lord of the Rings boss: The Dark Lord Sauron himself. The DLC itself is out now and available for download.
The DLC for Shadow of Mordor follows Celebrimbor, the Eleven Lord responsible for crafting the Rings of Power, and fighting the Dark Lord, hence the title "The Bright Lord."
Shadow of Mordor: The Bright Lord DLC is available as now as the final DLC pack for the game. Before The Bright Lord, the other DLC packs consisted of new skins, enemies, and hunting missions. The Bright Lord however stands out as the sole story DLC for the game, and promises to look like a formidable final battle. It promises 10 new missions and a new elite nemisis system for war chiefs and enemies. Let's just hope it will not be so reliant on quick time events as the main campaign's final battle bout was. Players can also play in a new challenge mode against high level enemies and earn high level runes.
Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor's design director Michael de Plater said in an interview that The Bright Lord would be quite a lot tougher than the main campaign.
TechRaptor gave Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor a favorable score of 84%. Our own Andrew Stretch reviewed the game, calling it "an extremely fun action/adventure game set in middle-earth." Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor released September 30, 2014, for the PS3, Ps4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. It received mostly positive reviews, and particular praise was given to its touted "nemesis system." However, the game released on rocky grounds thanks to a brand deal Let's Players would have to agree to in order to play the game early.
The DLC is available by itself, or as part of the season pass. Or of course in the inevitable definitive edition.
