While we're all enjoying seeing new games and the future of the platform that doesn't mean we can't also take a trip into the past with PC gaming. A new title coming to PC for the first time is a PC port Shadow Man Remastered. Shadow Man is a Nintendo 64 title that was originally released in 1999.
This port was first announced back in March but today was the first time we saw gameplay footage. This remastered version will include 4K resolution, shadow mapping, per-pixel lighting, anti-aliasing, and content that was planned to be in the original game but were left out for one reason or another. While there is no exact release date we do know that Shadow Man Remastered will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The original game is based upon the comic book of the same name. Shadow Man follows Michal LeRoi who has been chosen as the protector of the living realm to make sure that none of the potential threats from the 'Deadside' cause trouble. Each of these enemies in the 'Deadside' are part of an army created by the death of Jack the Ripper. While Shadow Man has been previously re-released this remaster will do a lot to improve the experience.
Nightdive studios have previously remastered Turok 2, Forsake, and System Shock. They've stated that their thought behind this remaster is to "give today’s generation of gamers all the features that they expect from a modern title while preserving the qualities that made Valiant’s iconic character and the original Shadow Man game such memorable classics to begin with."
What do you think of Shadow Man Remastered? Did you play the original title? Are you looking forward to some updated retro gaming?
