Senran Kagura Ten

Today Honey Parade Games and Marvelous Entertainment announced Senran Kagura Ten. Before you celebrate, read on.

It isn't the new mainline game that fans of the storied ninja action series have been waiting for a long time. It's an exhibition to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series. It isn't even very timely considering that the original Senran Kagura: Shoujo-tachi no Shinei launched on September 22, 2011. Even if you consider Senran Kagura Burst as the beginning as some do, it's still August 2012.

The exhibition will be hosted in Akihabara, Tokyo at the Akiba CO Gallery from February 4 to February 14. It will showcase over 200 illustrations and sketches created for the series and a photo spot with "huge 〇〇〇〇." If you know the series, you know what that is.

Visitors will get this sticker to wipe their tears.

Those who visit will receive a special 10th anniversary sticker portraying popular heroines Asuka and Homura. They're limited, so you'll get one only as long as stocks last.

Fans have been wondering what's up with the Senran Kagura series for quite a while. The latest game considered mainline, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, was released in 2017, followed by a few small spin-offs and remakes. In the meanwhile, the series' popular producer Kenichiro Takaki has left Marvelous and moved on to Cygames, where he's at the helm of console game development. In the meanwhile, the series has pretty much been kept in life support for years by the mobile title Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link that has done well for a while, but appears to be commercially declining.

Recently, we got the Neptunia X Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars crossover, but that wasn't developed or published by Marvelous. The next mainline game Senran Kagura 7even announced in 2017 never materialized but was never officially canceled, leaving fans in the dark while Honey Parade Games has worked on new IPs like Kandagawa Jet Girls and the recent mobile game Dolphin Wave.

Fans have been asking for clarity on the state of the series for a long time, but for now, that request remains unanswered.
