Strategy fans looking for the perfect Valentine's Day antidote are in luck this week as SEGA's Make War Not Love 4: The Aftermath offers the opportunity to watch the communities of Dawn of War II, Total War: Warhammer, Endless Legend and Company of Heroes II go head to head in a series of challenges. As an added incentive, supporters of the winning faction for each challenge will be rewarded with free DLC packs for the various games on show. The live streaming event will be broadcast on Twitch and Steam from the 16th to the 19th of February and those wanting to pick a faction to support can head to the Make War Not Love official site now to register.

The event kicks off at 4PM GMT on the 16th with 'SEGA vs Faction,' the community managers of SEGA's strategy titles going head to head with SEGA champions on a classic game which is currently being decided by a vote. Voting is open to anyone who registers their faction on the official site and the challengers will be facing off in either Crazy Taxi, SEGA Bass Fishing, Jet Set Radio, or Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. The winning faction will receive the Company of Heroes 2: Southern Fronts DLC and a 'mystery Mega Drive game.'

The 17th sees the whole community getting involved as points will be awarded to the community which submits the best Make War Not Love inspired artwork, as decided by the communities and SEGA. The winning faction gets the Dawn of War 2: Retribution Ultramarines Faction Pack and another mystery Mega Drive game. On the 18th, the factions will do what they do best as they live stream their respective games - competing for views and community engagement to win the prize. Endless Legend: Echoes of Auriga and a mystery Mega Drive game are up for grabs.

The final round on the 19th will see the two highest scoring factions go head to head in each other's games live at the PC Gamer Weekender in the SEGA Zone at Kensington Olympia. The winner here nets the Blood Pack DLC for all relevant Total War titles and (you guessed it) a mystery Mega Drive game. That's not all, the winner of the final event will also be crowned champion of Make War Not Love 4 and according to SEGA will unlock some 'very special content' for their faction's title.

In addition to the festivities, the SEGA titles on show will also be discounted on Steam for the duration of the event (16th - 19th of February), with all but the most recent Total War: Warhammer receiving huge discounts;

  • Total War: Warhammer - 33% off
  • Endless Legend - 75% off
  • Dawn of War franchise - 80% off
  • Company of Heroes franchise  - 75% off
  • Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, SEGA Bass Fishing, Sonic and All Star Racing Transformed - 75% off
