Sega has unveiled the Football Manager 22 release date. The upcoming football (I'm British, so it's football to me - if you're in the US, it's "soccer") management sim hits the PC and Xbox pitches this November, and will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass for both PC and consoles at launch.

What is the Football Manager 22 release date?

You'll be able to stand on the sidelines and shout at your players in Football Manager 22 on November 9th. The game is launching simultaneously for PC and Xbox after the franchise returned to Microsoft's consoles for last year's installment. As a result, you'll also be able to play Football Manager 22 on Xbox Game Pass on launch day, whether you're playing on PC or console. In addition, the Xbox version of Football Manager 22 will support Xbox Cloud Gaming, so you'll be able to play it on mobile devices too. You'll need Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for that, though.

Sega is promising more information about Football Manager 22, which launches this November, soon.

Sega says it'll preview new features and licensing updates for Football Manager 22 starting from late September. This means we'll likely get a glimpse into which teams are officially licensed for the game, as well as what new gameplay additions we can look forward to. If you want more information as soon as it's released, you should sign up for Sega's FMFC newsletter, which will send Football Manager 22 info directly to your inbox. In addition, if you grab the game through one of Sega's approved storefronts, you'll get a 10% discount and the chance to try the game out in Early Access two weeks before it officially launches. What exactly is Football Manager?

Football Manager is a sports management sim from Sega. As the name suggests, it offers the chance to manage your own football club. You'll get to decide strategies, tactics, and player lineup, all while you try to take your team to championship glory. These games tend to be pretty in-depth - they helped at least one of TR's people get through the COVID-19 pandemic, after all - so you'll also need to manage the expectations of your club's owners and its business hierarchy.

If you're looking for a more action-packed take on the sport, you might be better off looking to Konami's eFootball franchise or EA's giant FIFA series. These games are for stats nerds, so if you've ever watched a game of football unfold and thought "pfft, I could do a better job of keeping that lot in line", this is your chance to prove it. Football Manager 22 launches for PC and Xbox on November 9th. Sega is also promising more info on the Nintendo Switch version, titled Football Manager 22 Touch, in the coming weeks.
