Today Bohemia Interactive presented more gameplay of Silica, an upcoming hybrid between a real-time strategy game and a first-person shooter.

This time around, developer Martin Melichárek provides a look at the Arena mode. For now, it's a simple FPS mode that lets you test the various units and their weapons.

Every soldier type is equipped with a different gun, from a relatively weak sub-machine gun to a powerful rocket launcher.

You can check out the gameplay below. If you'd like to see more, you can enjoy another video showing the strategy mode from the point of view of the human faction and one focusing on the alien faction

If you're unfamiliar with Silica, it'll come soon in early access exclusively for PC. It began several years ago as a solo project until it was recently taken under the wing of Bohemia Interactive's Incubator project, with the popular developer of the Arma series providing support.

Below you can read an official description of what you can expect.

Silica is a crossover of FPS and RTS where up to 3 factions battle for control over the planet of Baltarus. Lead from above as Commander, or experience the action first-hand, either alone or with friends. Join one of two human armies, or hunt them down as the territorial aliens. Silica takes place in the scorching deserts of Baltarus, an exoplanet located thousands of light-years from Earth. Lead your faction to victory in Strategy, the flagship game mode. Harvest the Balterium hidden in the sands or defend Baltarus from the invading humans as an insect-like alien.
