New details have been revealed about Satisfactory Update 6. Big changes are coming to a region of the map, but you might have to wait a little longer to play it.

Satisfactory is a sandbox game that tasks players with building a massive factory across the surface of a planet. Previous updates have added liquids and drones -- and the next update has some interesting changes on the way.

What's Coming in Satisfactory Update 6?

Satisfactory Update 6 has quite a few changes on the way as highlighted on Reddit, the most prominent of which is a change to the northern coast: The Spire Coast will be a completely new biome. This isn't the only region that's changing, mind; the Swamp is also getting a full overhaul for its plant life.

New and improved creatures are coming in this update, and that means you'll have more dangers to deal with. That's precisely why Coffee Stain is giving gamers "more tools to engage in combat," although it hasn't specified exactly what that will look like.

One of the more significant changes is a rebalance to the game's clock speed. Currently, overclocking a machine uses a non-linear formula. Current plans are to implement a change with a linear formula: a 200% overclock would require twice as much power, a 50% underclock would use half as much power, and so on.

A number of other changes are on the way, too; you can read about all of the new goodies coming your way in the full Satisfactory Update 6 patch notes.

When is the Satisfactory Update 6 Release Date?

The Satisfactory Update 6 release date is targeted for sometime in early June 2022; a more specific release date has not yet been announced.

This next Satisfactory update looks like it's going to make it worthwhile to dive back into the game if you've been away for a while. If you haven't yet jumped into this massive factory-building game, you can buy Satisfactory for PC via its official website at the price of $29.99 or your regional equivalent.
