Sam & Max Save the World - Remastered has been revealed as a seriously-upgraded version of Telltale Games' 3D point-and-click adventure game and it's happily arriving in just a few short weeks.
If you're unfamiliar with Sam & Max, they're an anthropomorphic dog (Sam) and rabbit (Max) who serve as "freelance police." It originally began as a comic book in the late '80s and gained a measure of popularity when it was made into a point-and-click adventure game by Lucasfilm several years later. Then, Telltale Games picked up the license in the mid-2000s and made the 3D adventure games of the modern era.
Unfortunately, Telltale Games closed down some time ago, bringing a rather unceremonious end to the prospects of any new Sam & Max games. That's what makes Sam & Max Save the World - Remastered such a wonderful surprise — it popped up seemingly out of nowhere. Naturally, all of the gameplay from the original Sam & Max Save the World will be there. That said, this is a much better-looking game than the original from Telltale Games. The graphics have been enhanced and the aspect ratio has been shifted to a more modern widescreen format. New music is also arriving as part of the remaster.
Players will take on the roles of the titular characters, investigating a mystery surrounding hypnosis, washed-up child stars, and, for some reason, the bright side of the moon. Featuring the franchise's classic wacky characters, players will be taken through delightfully weird puzzles and even weirded humor when it launches next month. Best of all, it seems that this is just the start — it looks like Skunape Games will be remaking all three of Telltale's collection of Sam & Max adventures.

The Sam & Max Save the World - Remastered release date will be December 2, 2020 — that's just three weeks away! The game will be launching on PC and Nintendo Switch.
